Jeep tours in Armenia (jeeping) – travelling on off-road vehicles through Armenia’s mountain trails – are full of excitement and unforgettable experiences. Off-roading in Armenia brings adrenaline and a sense of adventure, something every traveller tired of city life will appreciate. But it’s not just about the thrills.
When planning one-day and multi-day jeep tours in Armenia, we also focus on learning and discovery. First, you get to experience Armenia’s wild nature and its incredible variety of landscapes. You will be surprised by the country’s biodiversity – from mountain steppes and dry canyons to alpine meadows and blooming gorges.
The second key part of jeep tours in Armenia is culture and history. Ancient settlements, monasteries, fortresses, burial sites, mysterious petroglyphs, caravanserais, open-air observatories, and khachkars from the 5th–13th centuries will open a window into the world of ancient people, early Christianity, and the enlightened Middle Ages.
Our off-road jeep tours (jeeping) are led by highly experienced drivers with special training.
Off-road tours in Armenia are a real adventure for true lovers of travel!
Jeep tours in Armenia are available all year round. The best season is from mid-March to mid-November, when the weather is generally stable, temperatures are comfortable for longer excursions, and mountain trails are fully accessible.
In spring, the routes are full of green landscapes and flowering meadows. Summer brings dry and clear weather, though July and August can be quite hot in the lowlands. For this reason, off-road tours are usually arranged in higher-altitude areas with cooler temperatures. Autumn offers mild and comfortable conditions, making it a very pleasant time for travel.
Most of our tours are suitable for people without any special fitness training. On some routes, where the Jeep cannot reach directly, short walking sections may be required, for example, climbing a hill or descending into a gorge.
Safety is our top priority on all Jeep tours. All routes are checked in advance to ensure a smooth and comfortable drive. You will be accompanied by experienced driver-guides who know the area well, including off-road conditions, and are skilled in safe driving techniques.
Before the tour begins, a short briefing is provided on behaviour in the vehicle and along the route. The Jeeps are regularly maintained and equipped with everything needed: seat belts, a first aid kit, communication devices, and additional equipment if required. During the tour, the group travels in a convoy with constant contact between vehicles, allowing any situation to be managed quickly. If weather or other conditions change, the route can be adjusted as necessary.
One-day tours: Transport in a 4x4 Jeep, the services of a guide, bottled water, a light snack along the route, and entrance fees to natural or historical sites if included in the programme.
Multi-day tours: Airport transfers, accommodation along the route (depending on the itinerary) with breakfast, transport in a 4x4 Jeep, the services of a guide, bottled water, a light snack along the route, and entrance fees to natural or historical sites if included in the programme.
To make sure your trip is enjoyable and meets your expectations, consider the following:
Level of difficulty: Decide whether you are comfortable with off-road sections, mountain switchbacks, or prefer gentler roads. If unsure, a medium level of difficulty is recommended.
Tour duration: Consider how much time you want to spend on the route. One-day tours are ideal for quick experiences, while multi-day tours allow deeper immersion in nature and culture.
Interests and preferences: Do you prefer nature, lakes, canyons, monasteries, or historical sites? Each route has its own focus, so choose what appeals to you most.
Comfort and group composition: If you are travelling with children or prefer a more relaxed programme, select routes with smaller elevation changes and shorter driving distances. For adventure enthusiasts, more dynamic routes are available.
We are always happy to help you select the best route, taking into account your preferences, fitness level, and the season. Full consultation is provided before booking.
No special preparation is required for jeep tours. Wear comfortable clothing suited to the weather, closed shoes, and bring sun protection – cream, sunglasses, and a hat. A light windproof jacket and any personal essentials are recommended. Everything else is provided.
Light snacks are usually sufficient, such as nuts, dried fruit, bars, fruit, or biscuits. Bottled water and a basic snack are already included. For multi-day tours, breakfasts are provided, so additional food is minimal – only what you personally prefer.

The national currency is the Armenian dram (AMD). You can bring any currency you have – roubles, dollars, euros, etc. Currency exchange is easy at banks and exchange offices. In Yerevan and major cities, credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and shops. In smaller towns and villages, it is better to carry cash in drams.
Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted throughout the country and supported by ATMs.
American Express (AmEx) is accepted less frequently (not at all locations), but works at some places and bank POS terminals.
UnionPay, the Chinese payment system, is gradually being introduced; UnionPay cards are now issued and accepted, especially at certain banks and major retail locations/ATMs.
