Mount Yeranos is located in Armenia’s Ararat Region and reaches an elevation of 1,825 metres above sea level. It is part of the Yeranos mountain range – one of the longest ranges in the country.
The hike starts near the abandoned village of Byurashat. From the summit, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of both Mount Ararat and Mount Aragats.
At the foot of the mountain lies the Azat Reservoir, which holds around 70 million cubic metres of water. It sits at 1,050 metres above sea level and was built on the Azat River, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site. The water from the reservoir is used to irrigate the Ararat Valley.
