Gegharot Waterfall
Gegharot Waterfall is located on the scenic slopes of Mount Aragats, at an altitude of about 3,000 metres above sea level. This natural monument is only 11 kilometres from the village of Aragats and is considered one of the most impressive waterfalls in Armenia. Gegharot waterfall is about 17 metres high. In winter it completely freezes, turning into a stunning wall of ice — a true masterpiece of wild nature.
Our route begins in the village of Aragats, at around 2,000 metres above sea level. From here we start a hike through the gorge of the Gegharot River. The trail leads along mountain paths, through alpine meadows, rare plants, and amazing views all around. As we climb higher, wide panoramas open up, and with every step you feel the peace and beauty of untouched nature.
This hike is ideal for those who want an active holiday in Armenia, a break from city life, and a chance to enjoy the strength and beauty of the Armenian mountains.
