Mount Apakekar (also bknown as Abeghakar) lies between the villages of Haghartsin and Hovk, standing at 1,651 metres above sea level. It is especially beautiful when seen from Haghartsin. The name “Apakekar” comes from the Armenian words apaki (glass) and kar (stone).
Our hike begins in the village of Hovk. We’ll follow a lovely, winding path that takes us to the top of the mountain. From there, we’ll enjoy wonderful views of the Ijevan Mountains and the forests of “Dilijan” National Park.
After a short break at the top, we’ll make our way down towards Haghartsin village. On the way, we’ll have great views of the Tavush region and the mountain itself. The walk ends in Haghartsin.
This hike is perfect for beginners and anyone who enjoys nature and gentle mountain walks.
