Arrival and meeting at the airport.
Your journey in Armenia starts with a city tour of Yerevan, the capital city. Yerevan is known for its unique mix of old and new architecture, green streets, and many fountains.
Next, we’ll visit to the “Erebuni” Museum, located at the base of Arin Berd hill. At the top of the hill stood the ancient Erebuni Fortress, built in 782 BC during the Urartian period. The museum, opened in 1968, displays many interesting items from that time, including weapons, armour, clay tablets with cuneiform writing, cups, jugs, and seals.
After that, we’ll go to the Cascade Complex, a huge staircase 500 metres long (572 steps) with fountains, flowerbeds, and an open-air museum with about 30 sculptures by famous artists. Inside the Cascade is the Gafesjian Centre for the Arts, spread across five levels.
If you like (for an extra fee), you can also visit the Yerevan Brandy Factory for an interesting tour and taste two types of Armenian brandy/cognac/: the three-year-old “Ararat” and the ten-year-old “Akhtamar”.

Breakfast at the hotel.
Our tour through Armenia continues to the Garni Temple, the only standing Ancient (Greco-Roman-style) pagan temple in Armenia. It was built in the 1st century by King Tiridates I and dedicated to the sun god Mithra. Nearby, the Azat River Gorge is known for its stunning basalt rock columns, formed by ancient volcanic lava flows.
Next, we’ll visit the Geghard Monastery, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with special protection status. Its full name is Geghardavank, which means “Monastery of the Spear.” The name comes from the spear of Longinus—the Roman soldier who, according to tradition, pierced Jesus’s side. The spear is now kept in the treasury of the Etchmiadzin Cathedral.
We’ll also join a lavash baking masterclass. Lavash is a traditional Armenian flatbread, and in 2014, it was added to UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Next, we’ll travel to Lake Sevan, known as the “Jewel of Armenia” or the “Geghama Sea.” It is the largest freshwater lake in the South Caucasus.
We’ll visit Sevanavank Monastery, which stands on a peninsula and offers stunning views of the lake.
The day ends with our return to Yerevan.

Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out from the hotel.
We’ll start the day by visiting Yerevan’s Central Market. Dried fruits are a national pleasure in Armenia and often enjoyed with a glass of brandy. You’ll find dried fruit made from all sorts of things – not just the usual apples and apricots, but even watermelon, melon, and tomatoes!
Next, we’ll visit the “Megerian” Carpet Factory, where you’ll see how traditional Armenian carpets are made by hand. You’ll also enjoy a short tour that explains how the carpets are produced.
Then we’ll go to the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial, dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915, and visit the Genocide Museum.
Afterwards, we’ll head to Holy Etchmiadzin – the spiritual centre of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the seat of the Catholicos. We’ll visit Etchmiadzin Cathedral (301–303, thoroughly restored in 483–484 AD), which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our last stop will be the ruins of the Zvartnots Temple, which was destroyed by an earthquake. The remains of the temple and the area around it have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2000.
